The Designer Cupcake Artist Brought Her 'Petite Treat Affair' to the Kentucky Derby's World-Famous Star-Studded Event Where Starbuck Won the Baking Competition

LOS ANGELES, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 06/15/11 -- Goodie Girls (www.thegoodiegirls.com) cupcake company owner Annette Starbuck appeared with the country's best cupcake bakers on last night's Season 3 premiere episode of the Food Network's pastry-inspired reality show "Cupcake Wars." After surviving two elimination rounds, Starbuck advanced to the final phase of the challenge held at the 137th Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs in Louisville.

Outfitted in a handmade tutu and bright pink hair bow -- Starbuck and her Goodie Girl assistant Jackie Brubaker (who is also the face of emerging country/pop band Jackie Brubaker and the Ex Boyfriends) pulled off the difficult challenge to bake 1,000 delicious cupcakes in just two hours for the Derby's star-studded Red Carpet event.

Judged by Candace Nelson (Sprinkles Cupcakes) and Florian Bellanger (chef and co-owner of MadMac), the winning cupcake display included Derby-inspired flavors including Mint Julep, Peaches 'N Cream, Bubbly (dark chocolate cake, strawberry filling topped with Champagne frosting) and Starbuck's signature flavor, Blueberry Pancakes, all finished with a dusting of edible glitter. The Red Carpet celebration transformed into a 'Petite Treat Affair' as celebrities like Bobby Flay, Guy Fieri, Nick Lachey, Vanessa Manillo and TLC's 'Chili' enjoyed the tasty desserts. For additional episode airdates and times, check local listings.

Starbuck's television appearance comes just weeks before the opening of her first Goodie Girls storefront in Glendale, Calif. Slated to open this summer, the cupcakery is located just two blocks away from the bustling Americana at Brand shopping and entertainment center.

Goodie Girls is hot on the promotional circuit, providing their mini treats for multiple events throughout L.A. Kicking off June 17, the Friday Food Fair & Artisanal Marketplace at Chefs Center in Pasadena (45 N. San Gabriel Blvd.) will serve up Goodie Girls treats on Fridays from 6-9 p.m. through October.
